Some countries like France, UK and USA have banned using cell phones while driving but have allowed them to use hands-free, while other countries like Japan, Portugal, Israel, Singapore and Egypt have stopped using both hands-free and handheld cell phones. General packet radio service [GPRS] is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system’s global system for mobile communications. In 2G systems, GPRS provides data rates of 56-114 Kbit/second. 2G cellular technology combined with GPRS is sometimes described as 2.5G, that is, a technology between the second and third generations of mobile telephone. It provides moderate-speed data transfer by using unused time division multiple access channels in. GPRS supports the Internet protocol (IP), Point-to-point protocol (PPP) and X.25 connections. When TCP/IP is used in each phone can have one or more IP addresses allocated. GPRS will store and forward the IP packets to the phone even during handover. The TCP handles any packet loss.
